A Mechanical Contractor That Actually Answers
Based in Irvington, New Jersey. Commercial refrigeration, walk-in coolers and freezers, and HVAC across NJ, New York and Pennsylvania.
Fully licensed & EPA-certified · Serving New Jersey, New York & Pennsylvania
Anthony & Sons Mechanical is a commercial refrigeration and mechanical contractor working across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Our technicians are fully licensed and EPA-certified, and we cover emergencies 24/7 — because walk-ins do not fail during office hours.
What we are trying to be good at
Answering the phone
Most refrigeration emergencies happen at night, at a weekend, or mid-service.
A person answers, and tells you what to do while we are on the way.
Telling you the truth about repair versus replace
It is easy to sell a new system. It is harder to say the old one has years left in it.
You get both numbers and the reasoning.
Turning up with the right parts
A second visit costs you another day with a warm box.
We ask proper questions on the phone so the van is loaded for the fault you actually have.
Leaving a record behind
Health inspectors ask for service history and temperature records.
Every visit produces a written report, and our customers can pull it from the app themselves.

Something most contractors do not offer
Our customers get a client app. You can book a call, watch the technician on the way, approve a quote, pay, message the office, and pull your own invoices, service reports and certificates of insurance at two in the morning without waiting for anyone to open. Sign in here if you already have an account.
Where we work
We cover New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, including Elizabeth, Jersey City, Northern New Jersey and Eastern New Jersey. Check our service areas, or just call — if we cannot get to you in time we will say so rather than waste your afternoon.
Why a mechanical contractor rather than a refrigeration one
Most sites do not have a refrigeration problem or an HVAC problem in isolation. A kitchen that is too hot makes every reach-in in it work harder. A ventilation imbalance makes doors difficult and extraction poor. Covering refrigeration, heating, cooling and hot water means we can look at the building rather than one box in it, and you are not refereeing between two contractors who each blame the other.
How we try to handle the awkward conversations
When the honest answer costs us money
Telling you a cooler has years left when we could have sold you a new one.
We would rather have the next ten years of your maintenance than one sale.
When we get something wrong
It happens to every contractor, and what matters is the next call.
Ring the office. We would far rather fix it than read about it.
When we cannot get to you in time
Distance, weather and whatever else is live that night are real constraints.
You get a straight answer rather than an optimistic one that leaves you waiting.
When the price changes
Occasionally something is found that was not visible at quoting.
We stop and tell you before continuing, not afterwards on the invoice.
Licensed, certified and insured
Our technicians are fully licensed and EPA-certified, which matters most around refrigerant: recovery, leak repair and recharging are regulated activities, not just good practice. A certificate of insurance is available on request, and customers on the app can request one themselves in a couple of taps — it goes straight to our insurance agent with the details already filled in.
Based in Irvington, working across three states
We are at 10 Melville Place, Irvington, New Jersey, and we work across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Being local to northern New Jersey is why we can often be somewhere the same day — and being honest about distance is why we will tell you when we cannot.
How we are set up to answer at night
Being available 24/7 is easy to claim and harder to run. It means someone takes the call, someone can actually be dispatched, and the person answering knows enough to tell you what to do in the meantime. That last part matters more than people expect — a lot of stock gets saved in the twenty minutes before a technician arrives, simply by keeping a door shut and moving the right things.
The client app
Most contractors give you a phone number and an invoice. Our customers get an app, and it exists because of the things people kept having to chase us for.
Book without phoning
Describe the problem, pick the urgency, done in about thirty seconds.
Goes straight to our dispatcher, not an inbox.
See the technician coming
Rather than waiting in for an open-ended window.
You know whether to start moving stock or not.
Approve quotes and pay
Options laid out, picked and paid for in the app.
No card details ever stored by us — payments go through Stripe.
Pull your own paperwork
Invoices, service reports, W-9s and certificates of insurance.
At two in the morning if that is when you need them.
Request a COI in two taps
Your details filled in already, sent straight to our insurance agent.
The thing facilities companies chase contractors for most.
What our technicians carry
Technicians arrive with the site history, the access notes, the equipment list and the previous readings already on their phone. They photograph before and after, record what was done, capture your signature on site, and the report is finished before they leave. That is also why we ask proper questions when you call — the answers decide what is on the van.
Honest about what we are not
We are not the cheapest call-out in New Jersey, and if price is the only thing that matters you will find someone lower. What we are trying to be is the contractor whose repairs hold, who answers at three in the morning, and who tells you when your equipment has years left rather than selling you a replacement you did not need.
